PM POSHAN Scheme: Govt finds inordinate delay in incurring expenditure of funds | KNO

Srinagar, Jun 22 (KNO): Authorities have said that there has been inordinate delay in incurring expenditure of funds released for clearing the pending liability of 2023-24 under PM POSHAN Scheme. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Jammu and Kashmir Mission Director PM POSHAN issued a communiqué to Directors of both regions. “It is intimated that the funds to the tune of Rs 5454.67 lakh were released on 14.06.2024 in favour of districts of J&K UT for clearing the pending claims of 2023-24 under PM POSHAN Scheme,” it reads. The Mission Director further added that “Despite repeated telephonic calls and whatsapp messages for incurring maximum expenditure with respect to the clearing of liabilities of the previous year, only expenditure to the tune of Rs.12.05 Crores, has been incurred till date, as per PFMS Portal.” “Ministry of Education, Gol has issued communication to the Principal Secretary, School Education, J&K for delay in submission of proposal for release of 1st installment under PM POSHAN Scheme,” it reads. According to the official communiqué, it is prerequisite for submission of proposal, that the expenditure must be above 75 percent of available funds. “In this regard, DSEK and DSEK are requested to ask the Chief Education officers under their control to incur the expenditure, against the released funds immediately making us eligible for submission of proposal for release of 1st installment of financial year 2024-25,” it reads—(KNO)
